Motorcyclist Protective Coat (Schutzmantel für Kraftradfahrer): a protective coat for motorcyclists was introduced by an order (HM 34, No. 85) dated 12 November 1934. It was shortly termed motorcycle coat (Kradmantel). It rapidly became very popular, and was often worn by non-motorcyclists of all ranks in spite of the original intent to be worn by motorcycle messengers and motorcycle riflemen only.
