The service uniform was modified to allow wear of the riding breeches with the service tunic. In April 1933, long black trousers were prescribed for wear by all SA personnel with the service tunic when worn without decorations. Officer personnel were authorized to wear the riding breeches (in the same color as the tunic, brown color) with the service tunic.
