Close Combat Clasp (German: Nahkampfspange) was a World War II German military award instituted on 25 November 1942 for participation in hand-to-hand fighting at close quarters. Intended primarily for infantry, other Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS units were also eligible.Close Combat Clasp in Bronze was awarded for 15 close combat actions.It was worn above the left breast pocket and then 1cm above the ribbon bar. When the recipient owned multiple grades, only the highest grade was worn.
